I had a very good experience with Independent Edison Door company and would happily recommend them to anyone. I bought my garage door from another seller who refused to install the door because I wouldn't buy a new garage door opener from him. After enquiring with several other garage door companies I was really frustrated with their high charges and up-sells. Edison Door company gave me a straight forward pricing which was lower than all the other garage door companies. Also Edison door company did not try to up-sell any of their other services and worked with me to get the job done for the right price. Before the day of installation they came by to make sure we had everything. They were very professional and charged us for what was needed. They were skillful too. One of the other companies said that it would be impossible to install a torsion spring garage door with a low headroom track, but these guys installed it without a fuss. Thanks guys.

On 12/19/11 Edison Door Company installed installed my Chi 2251 garage door (torsion)...To this day not a single problem! It works flawlessly, no swaying, excessive noise etc. The coded lock with remote and the additional one that attaches to the house never has failed as well. The installer and manager helped me understand everything and knew exactly what they were doing ((which I checked on)). I mistakingly called another installer first. I documented that installer's mistakes with pics and annotations. To the rescue came Edison Door. Mike G. who was then managing was a total expert, as well as John who actually installed the door. I know this may sound staged, but I call them every 1/2 year--when I oil the door--and thank them for their expert installation and for helping me--noting factual mistakes the previous installer had made. If you write down their hints on maintenance and suggestions, I would expect that you will likely have a similar result. I recommend this company highly!!!

It went wonderfully. One of the sales reps (forgot his name) came out measured, told us the whole process and showed us different booklets of different style doors and the exact pricing. Ordering the door was seamless, and same for scheduling. Jose came out and installed the door and removed all the old track with new and it looks great. Cleaned up, no debris left behind. Very very happy! Services Rendered: Replace old rotting garage door.

We had someone come to the house, give an estimate for 2 doors & 2 openers....and give us a contract...we gave a deposit & about 2-3 weeks later received a phone call giving us an install date for the following day....the installer arrived on time @ about 8:30 am & started the job...at about 12noon I received a phone call from the company saying we owed an extra $900 because they "forgot" to include the price of the openers.....I could not believe that they were now tellling us this bit of info....he agreed to take $800 or the openers would not be installed.....very dissapointed in the way this company does business.....the following day I called asking for more info about the internet capability of the openers & have yet to get a response....the ONLY good thing was the competent, polite installer

he arrived at the agreed time and was finished tearing down old door and attachments and installing new door in approx. 3 hours. we were very pleased with the quality and installation. the installer was very professional. Services Rendered: took down and hauled away old garage door and attachments and installed new door,motor and replaced chain drive with a quiet spring drive.

Everthing went as promised. Services Rendered: Had Edison install two new garage doors and two new garage door openers. Called for and estimate on May 31,2012 and Richard their salesman called later that day and set up an appointment for that evening at 7:30pm. He arrived on time and took some measurements, explained my options and had pictures and specs of the different doors. The price was competitive and we signed an order and gave him a deposit. He stated that it would take about two weeks to get the doors and I would receive a call to set up an installation day,. In about two weeks they called and we set up the installation date. They came when promised and installed everything in one day. Everything works as promised and I would definitely use them again.

I think they know what they are doing, that was my impression. I think the gentleman who came out was a little condescending because he was surprised I was getting multiple bids. He kind of left the impression that I really didn't know what I was doing in this business. It kind of bothered me but it would not have turned me away from them if I thought they were the best choice. The two reasons that caused me not to select them were that we had a broken garage door, so speed was important as well as price. I found a place that could deliver in two weeks for a couple of hundred dollars less. I thought it was weird that I got a verbal estimate only. I would have preferred a written estimate that detailed what I was buying. I may use them again in the future. Services Rendered: I used Edison Overhead Door to quote on installing a new garage door.
